Ala Wai Golf Center Updates & Announcements

HSJGA/ First Tee Executive Director Chris Noda today announced several operational modifications for the Ala Wai Golf Center that will be implemented starting on Sat. Oct. 8, 2022. The changes include the following:

            Ala Wai Golf Center driving range

                  1) Facility will open for use at 6:30 am daily

                  2) Facility will close for use at 10:00pm daily( last bucket sold at 9:00 pm)

                  3) Large capacity buckets will be available for purchase

            Ala Wai Pro Shop

                  1) Facility located in the golf clubhouse will be open for use at 6:30am daily

                  2) Facility will close for use at 5:30pm daily

                  3) Top quality rental club sets will be available

Golf lessons are also being offered via our golf professional and First Tee – Hawaii Program and Range Manager Jonathan Strait as well as via Mike Matheny, PGA.  Both can be reached at info@hsjga.org or (808) 312-4424.

Working in partnership with The City and County of Honolulu, the premier junior golf organizations in the state, the Hawaii State Junior Golf Association (HSJGA) and First Tee – Hawaii have been operating the Ala Wai Golf Center facilities since last year.   

The “Ala Wai Golf Center” encompasses the driving range and headquarters of the Hawaii State Junior Golf Association and First Tee – Hawaii.  In addition, the Center features a retail shop with logo’d clothing and other soft and hard goods.  The retail center also features Callaway Golf golf balls, gloves, and rental clubs in an exclusive partnership. 

The HSJGA/First Tee – Hawaii which is based at the Center handles its daily operations from the facility as well as managing all programming for these youth non-profit organizations dedicated to teaching keiki the fundamentals of golf and life skills.
